Frequently Asked Questions

Do these frames provide firearm security?

Absolutely not!  Any weapon stored in a Freedom Frame is instantly accessible by anyone simply by raising the sliding art panel. There are no locks or other weapon security features included with Freedom Frames. These frames provide concealment only.

Will your frame accommodate any handgun?

The Guard

This frame uses a 5/16" rod and magnet to hold your pistol which will store most sub-compact, compact & standard pistols (.32 caliber and larger) and revolvers with barrels up to 3".

The Ambush

The Ambush Series Freedom Frame uses a 9/32" steel post onto which your pistol fits and a magnet to keep it stable.  Like the Guard, this means that the Ambush will store most sub-compact, compact and standard sized pistols (.32 caliber and larger) and revolvers with barrels up to 3".

The Sentinel

The Sentinel will store all the above listed pistols as well as most revolvers.  The Sentinel also has additional room for an extra compact or sub-compact pistol.

If you have any questions about a particular handgun fitting in one of our products, please contact us.  We'd be glad to assist you!

Can I install these frames myself?

The Guard & Ambush

The Ambush Series frame is designed for simple installation, mounting to an existing wall stud.  Installation will require (2) wood screws (one high, one low) which penetrate your wall stud at least 1 & 1/4" (screws not included).  We recommend using a stud finder as a part of this process.

The Sentinel

We recommend that you have a professional install the Sentinel Series Freedom Frame as it does require cutting out part of the wall covering (such as sheet rock) during installation.  If you prefer to do this on your own, step-by-step instructions are included to guide you through the process.  Mounting screws and other mounting hardware is not included.  Please note that Freedom Frames LLC is not responsible for any direct or consequential damage to the frame, to the wall or the home into which it is being installed.

Can you help me install my Freedom Frame?

We are more than happy to answer basic installation questions.  For installation of the Sentinel, we may refer you to a professional carpenter, depending on your question.  Please feel free to contact us.

What is the shipping time to receive one of your products?

We have many of our Freedom Frames in stock.  If your ordered product is in our inventory, your product will ship in 7-10 business days. Because of demand, we may have to build your product at the time you place your order. If this is the case, your product will ship in 15-20 business days. We ship all orders by UPS Ground which takes 3-5 business days for delivery to most U.S. addresses.  Currently we do not offer expedited shipping.

How are your frames made?

Each of our frames is crafted by hand from domestic hardwoods and using beautiful finishes. Not only do we want to provide you an excellent hidden location for your handgun, but we also want to provide you the very best quality frame for your fine art or photography.

Can you use a mat with the Freedom Frame?

The Sentinel is designed to frame an 11x14" piece of art or photography as well as an 8x10" piece of art or photography by using an art mat.  The Ambush will only frame an 11x14" piece and does not provide depth enough to use an art mat.  The Guard will frame an 8x10", but also has limited depth and will not support an art mat.

Do you do any custom work?

We are  more than happy to discuss any customized feature, wood grain or finish in which you may be interested. Because we are a small craftsman shop, we may not be able to fulfill all such requests. If we are able to assist with your custom request, pricing will be quoted per job.
